I really don't know how people do this!?!?

How on earth do pregnant women grow babies and work full time!?!?! I know we've got a lot of stuff and stress going on besides this, but man, I can hardly make it into work anymore, and when I'm there, it's miserable. I had to call out last night, again. I know working night takes a toll on your body anyhow, but it's just kicking my butt now! I can't sleep during the day much, so between the normal nausea and feeling tired thanks to pregnancy hormones I am beyond exhausted for work, which nearly doubles the nausea! What I wouldn't give to be able to quit my job or at least go down to part time. In between that I've been wearing myself down trying to get my mom's house cleaned up so my bro can be able to move in. That has been a much harder job than we anticipated. So, thanks for my little rant, I know things will get better, it just can't come soon enough!

This year is full of surprises!

With sorrow there also comes joy. 5 days after my mom passed Derek and I found out we were pregnant (well, thought we were, 3 positive tests later we were convinced!) While the time has been hard missing my mom, I am so looking forward to having this new life that is growing within! It's bittersweet, but this little bundle of joy has definitely allowed me to keep my focus on something else and be hopeful for the future and not longing for the past. We're now 9 weeks along and so far things are looking good. It's very exciting as I'll get to share this time with a long lost friend from hs that is just a few days further along than me! What a blessing this child is!

Here's to 2009!

So it's been awhile, we've been relaxing and trying to get through the holidays. We went up to WA to visit Derek's family and that was a great escape from everything we'd been dealing with. It snowed up there and was absolutely beautiful! My buddy Desi and I even got to build a snowman which I can't remember when I've last done. I got to spend a great day baking with my mother and sister in law, it was such a great bonding moment. I really lucked out with amazing in laws! Spent Christmas eve with the whole family and then flew back home on Christmas day in time to have dinner with my brothers and niece. New years we went out with some friends and while everyone else looked like they were having a blast, I wasn't feeling too great but tried to make the best of it. So we're looking forward to the new year and all that it holds. I'm planning on this year being a good one for us. It'll be busy, but so far so good. Here's a few pics from the past couple weeks.

The kids patiently waiting to open gifts. I would've had that thing tore up already!

Well, hope everyone had a very merry Christmas and a happy new year!
